Some Update-Type Stuff

Please forgive me, anyone-who-is-paying-attention-to-this-site. :-)

I promise to have more to say here.

Really. Because I promised myself I'd try and do a Drupal issue a day, addressing something on my dashboard, probably from the Examples Project but also maybe in Core or any of the other modules I use.

So when I do one of those, I'll write about it here. Ideally.

Stay tuned.

The Most Basic Color Management Info You Need

I: Stating the problem

Suppose you took a picture, and you want to print it out. The color might be accurate on your computer screen, but not so right when you print it out. It might be too dark or maybe not saturated enough.

This is the most basic color management problem. Things look different on the screen than on a printout. Got it? Good. :-)

More Security

Update to Drupal 5.1 complete. We hope.

Some modules I use aren't available for v.5, so let's see how it goes. I might shift back to 4.7.6.

More update.... It took some doing to get the image toolkit working. After installing the image module, trying to change that setting would show me that there were no toolkits avaialble, so drupal would use it's built-in GD. Of course that didn't actually happen; no toolkit was used, so trying to upload an image resulted in no thumbnails.

Software for Freelance Photographers

Some software for photographic freelancers:

FotoBiz looks pretty comprehensive, with a FotoQuote stock pricing module. It's written in FileMaker and is extensible. $229.

An index of software for photographers over at Not a very focused list, but maybe worth a look if you can't find anything else.
